Privacy and
email choices.
Last updated October 27, 2026. This page explains the data this website collects through its public forms and the choices available to you.
What we collect
When you submit a contact, speaking, or training form, we collect the name and email address you enter. Contact and speaking forms may also include your organization, phone number, and message. We retain the form type, page/source, affirmative-consent record, time of submission, and campaign parameters when they are present. To protect forms from abuse, the service may retain an IP-derived hash rather than a plain IP address.
Your free-book questionnaire
If you complete the Unleashed book questionnaire, we also save your location, profession, estimated audience, publishing obstacles and stage, publishing plan, interest in coaching, book description, and readiness for a conversation. These answers are linked to your private contact profile so Martijn’s team can understand your goals and offer relevant recommendations. A phone number is optional and is used only if you invite a conversation; entering it is not an SMS opt-in. Questionnaire answers are not posted publicly.
Why we use it
We use the information to respond to your inquiry, provide the requested training or offer, send Martijn’s insights when you affirmatively agree, maintain subscription preferences, and keep a record of consent. Speaking and contact inquiries are saved and routed to Martijn’s team. A saved form does not promise that an email was delivered.
Consent and verification are different
Requesting the free training, completing the book questionnaire, or submitting a speaking inquiry subscribes you to Martijn’s insights as disclosed near the submit button; those forms do not require a separate checkbox. Contact and comment forms use their displayed consent checkbox. We may then send a verification link to confirm that you control the email address. Until that link is used, your record is marked unverified; verification is an additional confirmation, not a different promise about your subscription. Not clicking does not unsubscribe you, and a previously opted-out or suppressed address is not silently resubscribed.
Opting out
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. The unsubscribe page asks for an explicit confirmation before changing your preference, so email-security scanners cannot opt you out merely by opening a link. We also honor suppression, bounce, and complaint signals where they are available.
Public comments and reactions
Your submitted display name, approved comment, and replies may be publicly visible. Your email address is kept private and is not included in public discussion responses. Comments are reviewed before publication. Reactions use a pseudonymous visitor identifier to remember your choice and avoid duplicate counts; the browser may retain that scoped identifier. We keep moderation and abuse-prevention records, and discussion counts reflect stored visitor activity rather than invented engagement.
Service providers
We use Manus to host and operate this website and its public-form data services. We use Resend for email delivery when that integration is configured. The Unleashed free-book offer links to Four Rivers Media, which operates its own destination and privacy practices.
